I have always found great deals on Expedia.com. You might consider flying from NYC to London. British Airways usually has very cheap airfare sometimes as low as $99 one way. After you get to the U.K., take the EuroStar to Paris, its a three hour train ride, not too boring, can get a lot of planning done on the train.
