Eurail Discount

how much does the eurail cost?
we’re from america and going on a trip on the eurail we want to go to ten countries in one month, we are 18 and there is three of us. our dad is in the military if that can get any discounts, how much would it cost?
An other good page on rail passes you can find on the site of the man in seat sixty-one:
http://www.seat61.com/Railpass.htm
http://www.seat61.com/Railpass.htm#Eurail%20passes
At this time I can not get the official site to tell what the passes cost, so you will have to see that for yourself.
But an other site: http://www.eurail.com/ gives the price for one month youth pass: €535, which is about $730.
Besides that there are different lengths of the pass, there are also passes for a few countries or even just one.
In any case, ‘doing’ 10 countries in one month you have an average of 2 days sightseeing for each country, as the third day will be spend traveling, which is not enough.
You will enjoy your travels more if you put less in it.
Select 4 countries and spend a week in each, much more satisfying. Three days in the capital city, 1 or 2 days in a smaller city and the rest of the time in villages or national parks.
For traveling around, next to your rail passes and your intercontinental flights, you will need about $100 each per day, more if you want to stay in hotels rather than hostels and eat out.
You can get discounts if you are 18, but only based on age. You will not get discounts on the fact that your dad is in the military. But if you are stuck for places to stay, try contacting the military posts in Europe and see if they can host you for free, but do not budget on that.
