Are EuRail and Trenitalia the same?

Are they same? Can we get either ticket and board any train?
Trenitalia seems to be offering discounts!
Eurail is a company that sells passes for use on just about any European train. You select a pass for the country/countries you want to visit and this is your ticket. On some trains you will need to book seats in advance and pay a seat reservation charge. A supplement is also required for sleepers and couchettes on overnight trains. Your travel will be limited by the number of days your pass is for eg 4 days travel in 2 months. Eurail passes are really only worthwhile if making lots of long distance trips.
TrenItalia is the Italian national rail system. Just like any other train system, you buy a ticket for a certain destination, on a certain day, and that’s when you travel.
Some travellers use a Eurail pass for longer trips, and just buy tickets for the shorter, cheaper ones.
