Buying Rail Tickets

Best Ticket for Europe Rail Trip?
I am looking to take a 2 week trip to Europe and I was wondering if anyone knew the best company to purchase rail tickets from. There will be two of us, both 25 or younger. Also, does it even save money to purchase a rail pass compared to just buying individual tickets? We are looking to travel to 5 or more countries. Thanks!
Buying a rail pass may or may not save you money compared to individual tickets. It depends on how much travel you do, what types of trains you use, and whether you have a travel plan that allows you to buy individual tickets in advance. There are often discounts available for higher speed trains and night trains for advance purchase. It’s more work to buy individual tickets, but can be cheaper. Note that will the rail pass, you still have to make reservations for most high speed, international, and night trains and there will be a supplemental fee for each of those. See: http://www.eurail.com/eurail-reservations-supplements-domestic , http://www.eurail.com/eurail-reservations-supplements-international-trains , http://www.eurail.com/eurail-reservations-night-trains
Passes are most likely to save you money if you travel a lot, use the regional trains that don’t require reservations (and a supplemental fee) and/or do a lot of spontaneous travel and therefore cannot get the individual ticket discounted fares. Put together a rough travel plan of what you would like to do and then find the individual ticket prices on the various national train sites. Compare the price for the individual tickets to that for the pass + supplements.
