What is the cheapest way from Paris-Zurich?
we are traveling from London-Paris-Zurich-salzburg-Lubljana-Zagreb-split-Budapest in Oct. Is cheaper to buy a eurail pass or there is a cheaper way. (buying individual tickets seems to be cheaper) Many thanks
If you want to stop on the way, or even if you wish to travel to other places in Europe while away, the cheapest option with more fun and better options to stay somewhere, go to Busabout. It is a hop on, hop off type bus service. I think the minimum stops you buy for is about 5 within Europe.
The bus stops right outside hostel doors and has various pick up points, mostly at hostels I think. You get to meet lots of travellers along the way, don’t have to find trains, stations, lug your backpack everywhere etc – http://www.busabout.com
Eurail pass is good too but it does have some limitations. When you buy the pass, it is a definite ticket on the train, but not a designated seat unless you pay extra for that privelege. This is okay in non-tourist times, but in heavy season, you may be sitting on the train, then it stops at a station where a person gets on who happens to have booked the exact seat you are sitting on, you have to move to another seat. This is not always a problem, but it can be depending on the amount of luggage you have, how full the train is etc etc.
